Roy founded ProHR in 2002, prior to that he was the HR Head of Bristol-Meyers Squibb China, Philips Electronics China Group, etc.
Roy is the founder and CEO of ProHR International, which is a consulting firm specializing in executive recruitment, leadership/talent development, and organization capability development. ProHR International is the official partner of RBL Group in China, which is the consulting firm established by modern HR management Guru, Professor Dave Ulrich of University of Michigan.
In his consulting work, Roy works with business leaders (CEO, VP and GM) as well as HR executives to develop and align business strategies with organization capability and talent strategies. He is a sought after facilitator and coach in his field.
Since 1993 Roy has amassed an unprecedented knowledge of the talent and organization development field in China by playing an active role in advancing the HR community. Roy’s experience goes beyond China’s borders as well by his leading and participating in global initiatives such as “Developing and Moving Talent Globally” for a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical company and by serving for three years in the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry and Chinese Embassy in Denmark.
Working in several industries (pharmaceutical, electronics & FMCG), Roy practiced HR in different stages of business development and various sides of businesses such as expansion strategies at one stage and right-sizing strategies at another. Roy has experience in the commercial sector as well as manufacturing. While serving in executive roles with MNCs like Philips Electronics, Foster’s and Bristol-Myers Squibb he excelled at participating in strategic planning and then taking those plans to the operational level.
Roy has been recognized for his expertise many times, two of those presented to him by China and Hong Kong’s leading HR journal 《China Staff》 - “HR Manager of the year(1997)” and “Outstanding Contribution to HR in Hong Kong and China” (the first local HR professional to receive this award). Roy holds a degree from China Foreign Affairs University and an EMBA degree from China Europe International Business School. He is Chairman of CEIBS Alumni HR Management Association.
